My framework is based on three dimensions of learning. The cognitive (and traditional) dimension of learning relates to the acquisition of knowledge, skills and understanding. The intrapersonal dimension is about how we interact with that learning and the interpersonal dimension with how we learn from other people and from our environment. In today's ever-changing environment all three dimensions are critical.

Professional competence is a given for many of us but my framework also includes a third layer that reflects the ongoing and lifelong nature of learning. Adding the five elements of career adaptability to my framework results in the complete professional, someone who is not only competent but also continually learning in response to their environment.
